Alice Delois Evans was born September 21, 1955 to parents John Henry and Carrie Brown Woodard. Alice known by “Honey” to those that knew her well. She attended S. H. Rider High School and upon graduation she served her country with the US Army. She dedicated her life to loving the Lord and serving others. Honey was a long standing member of Antioch Baptist Church where she served on the Usher Board and assisted with Meals on Wheels Program. In the late 70’s she laid the pavement for many to follow in her footsteps by becoming the first African American female jailer in Wichita County. Though she excelled in other areas from being part of a management team in home health care, to working in retail with Walmart. Her true passion was law enforcement. She retired from Allred Prison in 2018 where she was loved and respected. Honey was a feisty and God fearing woman that lived her life helping others. Anyone that ever had the pleasure of being in her presence knows she has never met a stranger. She was happiest when she was spending time with her family and watching the Dallas Cowboys. She enjoyed fishing, cooking and serving her community with her Elks Lodge Family.
