Rev. Vincent Quinney, Eulogist

Bertha Mae “Ninny” Redmon was born on May 20, 1952, in Pineville, Louisiana, to Mason and Frankie Quinney, Jr. She was the first of thirteen children and grew up surrounded by family, faith, and love. At an early age, she accepted Christ and was baptized at St. Thomas Baptist Church in Boyce, Louisiana, under the leadership of the late Rev. Bobby Lewis. Bertha entered into eternal rest on Thursday, January 29, 2026, in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Bertha graduated from Alexandria Senior High School in 1971 and continued her education at Grambling State University, earning an Associate Degree in Business. In 1974, she began her professional career with JCPenney, faithfully dedicating more than 30 years of service until her retirement. Her spirit of service did not end at retirement, as she went on to serve the community through her work with the Wichita County Tax Office.

Bertha would move to Wichita Falls in the early 80’s. In January 1984, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Billy Redmon, in Alexandria, Louisiana. Their union was built on faith, love, and devotion, and together they shared a lifetime of memories. From this loving bond, they were blessed with one daughter, Billie Jean “B.J.” Redmon.

Bertha wore many titles throughout her life, but the ones she treasured most were Mother, Grandmother, and Wife. Loving, patient, and deeply devoted, she always placed her family’s needs above her own, giving freely of her time, strength, and heart. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy, and nothing brought her greater happiness than their laughter and the moments they shared together. She offered unwavering support, encouragement, and protection to those she loved, carrying herself with dignity, compassion, and quiet strength. Above all, she was a woman whose kindness could fill a room and whose presence will be missed beyond measure.

Bertha and Billy stood together throughout their lives, and even in passing, they were not parted; a powerful testament to a love that endured to the very end.

Bertha is preceded in death by her parents, Mason and Frankie Quinney, Jr.; husband, Billy Redmon; brothers, Johnny Ray Quinney, Sr., and Larry Quinney; sisters, Nancy Quinney and Dorothy Jean Powell.

Bertha leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Billie Jean “B.J.” Redmon; brothers, Willie “Ray” Quinney (Gracie), Billy Quinney (Sylvia), Henry Lewis Quinney, Sr. (Rheta), and Robert Quinney; sisters, Erma “Jean” Davis, Ruby Cottingham, Mary “Penny” Blue (John Wayne), and Jacqueline “Jackie” Quinney; her beloved grandchildren, Ma’Kyha Johnson and Gianna Stewart; stepdaughters, Lisa Dianne Williams (Gilbert), Felicia Ann Somerville (Jason), Alicia Deann Corker; step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.
