Clifford Lewis Blue, “Big Blue,” born to Artie Blue and Robert Blue, Sr. August 27, 1953 in Wichita Falls, TX. Clifford departed this life March 31, 2026.
At an early age, he was baptized at Saint Matthew Baptist Church, beginning a lifelong foundation of faith and family. One of eight siblings, Clifford deeply valued family bonds, often gathering with loved ones to enjoy card games, dominoes, laughter, and fellowship.
Clifford received his education at Booker T. Washington School and proudly graduated from Rider High School in 1971. He began his career with Ebner Brothers, where he worked for ten years before continuing his professional journey at First Wichita Bank—fondly known in the community as the “Big Blue Bank” on Scott Street in Wichita Falls, TX. There, he dedicated over thirty years of loyal service. Working as both a Security Guard and Sanitation Specialist, he earned a reputation for his strong work ethic, professionalism, and willingness to do whatever was needed. In 2002, he was recognized in the Times Record News as a true “Jack Of All Trades,” a reflection of his dependable and versatile nature.
Outside of work, Clifford embraced life’s simple joys. He was a devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys, standing by his team through every season. He enjoyed spending Friday evenings at Joe Dolls, where he could unwind, play dominoes, dance, and connect with friends.
Clifford especially loved sitting outside on the porch at his home on Harding Street, listening to old school music and the blues, passing the time with laughter and good conversation. If you ever drove by 1306 Harding Street, chances are you saw him sitting outside. No matter who it was—family, friends, or even someone just passing through, people would stop, speak, and often stay for a while. His presence had a way of bringing people together, turning simple moments into lasting memories. That porch wasn’t just a place to sit; it was a place of fellowship, warmth, and love.
Clifford was preceded in death by his parents, Artie Blue and Robert Blue Sr.; his brothers, Robert Blue Jr. and Leroy Blue; and several beloved aunts and uncles.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving sisters, Edith Blue and Celeste Butler; brothers, Lawyer Blue, John Blue (Mary), and Sylvester “Lee” Blue; nieces, Crystal, Katrina, LeAndrea, Olivia, and special niece Mae Goff (David); nephews, Erik (Shayla), Christopher (Janice), Dewayne (Christian), Marquise, Nathan, Michael, Marcus, Clifford, and Lawyer “Jabarri”; along with a host of extended family
