Dinah Lorraine Dawson Vaughn was born January 13, 1957 to Jessie Mae Flye Johnson and Audrey Bill Dawson, Sr. She was the second of five children. She attended Booker T. Washington and Rider High Schools. Dinah later completed her Child Development Associates credentials from Vernon College. L Dinah dedicated twenty plus years to nursing. She worked early in her career at several health care facilities. Dinah changed careers and became a Pre K teacher at Overcoming Word Children’s Center. Her outgoing nature and her ability to render an encouraging word in time of need made an impact on everyone she came in contact with. Dinah’s love for God was evident everyday through her praise and worship whete=her in the choir, at home, in the car or at Walmart. She wasn’t shay about giving God glory “whenever or where ever the spirit moved her.” Dinah was a member of Overcoming Word Praise Center International and served in the choir and in the Children’s Ministry. Dinah Lorraine Dawson Vaughn was called home to glory on January 22, 2022 and is preceded in death by her husband, Samuel L. Vaughn and sibling, Steven L. Dawson. She leaves in God’s Care, her mother, Jessie Mae Dawson Johnson; sister, Rhonda L. Dawson; brothers, Steve R. Dawson, Audrey Bill Dawson; children, Alfonso (Nannette) Holmes and Lester D. Holmes; grandchildren, Allexus, D’Varius, Deshawn, Malek, Zion, Janae, and Makayla; great grandchildren, Kyndall, Barry Christophen, Zyiah, Ace Michael, Zariah, Jo’Ani, Ava, and Leilani; a host of nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones.

    To the family of Dinah Vaughn, May God give you the peace that you will need to get through this time. He knows the love that she has displayed for her family but it was time for her to answer the call of her father and she did. She will be with you in spirit and in your heart. Rest In Peace my dear friend we will see you again some day.
