Dleira Kay Duke was born on April 25, 1960 to Lavane Mills in Honey Grove, TX. She attended and graduated from Bonham High School in Bonham, TX in 1979. She departed this life on February 22, 2024.
After graduation, she moved to Wichita Falls, TX and married Edwin L. Harris. To this union one daughter was born,
Shemica Harris. She later married Darnell Duke and they had
one son, Darnell M. Duke, Jr. “DJ”.
Dleira worked at House of Hope, Texhoma Christian Care
Center, Rolling Meadows and later at University Park Manor as a health care provider. She loved her patients and would do whatever was needed.
She leaves to cherish her memories, mother, Lavane Harris of Bonham, TX; daughter, Shemica Harris of Royse City, TX; son, Darnell M. Duke, Jr. of Wichita Falls, TX; aunts, Marilyn Campbell (James), Mary Jean Shaw both of Wichita Falls, TX, and Martha Ann McCarty (Charles Ray) of Duncanville, TX; uncles, Kenneth Lee McFail (Barbara Shay) of Bonham, TX and Robert McFail (Annette) of Sherman, TX.
