Donnie Steve Alexander, 69, of Wichita Falls passed away on November 18, 2025. God called his name so softly that only he could hear. He heard, gained his wings, and went home to be with our Heavenly Father. Donnie was born on September 4, 1956 in Roxton, TX to the late Jasper Alexander, Jr. and Florene Preston Alexander. He graduated from S.H. Rider High School, Class of 74. During his years at Rider, he was known for his basketball skills and is still known as one of the greatest players for the Rider Raiders and in Wichita Falls. After graduating, he served a short stint in the U.S. Navy. Following his service in the Navy, he attended and graduated from Jarvis College (now Jarvis University). During his tenure at Jarvis, he pledged in the Phi Beta Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity in Spring 1980.

Donnie accepted the Lord at an early age at Antioch Baptist Church, Wichita Falls, TX. After moving to Dallas, TX, he united with True Vine of Holiness Missionary Baptist Church. He was very active in many ministries in the church and was ordained as a Deacon October 18, 2020.

Donnie had various occupations including admissions counselor at his alma mater, truck driving, and his last employment with BJMC Global, a FEMA contractor. His employer sent a statement to be shared: “Donnie dedicated the past 10 years to supporting FEMA’s disaster recovery efforts across the country most recently serving with BJMC Global and previously with FEMA. Throughout his career, he worked as a Site Inspector, Crew Lead, and Task Force Lead helping communities rebuild after disasters in Texas, Florida, Puerto Rico, Georgia, New Mexico and many other states. Known for his commitment, professionalism and unwaveringly positive attitude, Donnie approached every assignment with compassion and a deep sense of responsibility to those he served. His work touched countless lives, and his impact will be remembered for years to come."

Donnie’s passions included working out-keeping in shape boxing, and Taekwondo of which he received trophies and belts in the last two sports. He was known in the community as a mentor to persons of all ages, fed strays, and gave odd jobs or financial assistance to persons in need of help. He was someone you could depend on, a person you really wanted as your friend.

Donnie was preceded in death by his father, Jasper Alexander, Jr.He is survived by his mother Florene Alexander of Wichita Falls, sister Diane Alexander Morgan of Wichita Falls, his son Corey (Sharmane)Hill of Paris, TX, his daughter Tia S. Alexander of Atlanta, GA, grandsons Cordarrius Hill of Paris, TX, Corion Hill of Dallas, TX, great granddaughter, Maliyah Hill, host of other relatives, Brothers of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, and friends.

    I offer my condolences to Donnie family and friends. Doc you and my Uncle Hubert Vaughn were best friends and you were like an Uncle too me. Death takes a life but It'll never take those memories I have of you especially you and I battling on the basketball court and the wisdom you would share with me off the basketball court, Rest easy Doc.     Ms. Alexander & Diane you have my Sympathy for the loss of your beloved son & brother. Donot grieve as if you have no Hope yes You will miss him but Memories NEVER DIE.
