Elizabeth Ann Cooper had the character of a loving and nurturing Angel. God picked a beautiful Rose for his garden when he called her home on September 24, 2020. Elizabeth was born October 3, 1942 in Denison, TX. She was the second daughter of Samuel and Mattie Jones. She was the mother of Elizabeth Diana “Cooper” Campbell and Robert E. and Vicki Campbell, III. She was also the proud the grandmother of Robert E. Campbell, IV. She was the sister of James E. and Pauline Jones, Nealy B. and L.C. Polk and Samuel G. Jones, Jr. Her nieces, nephews, and cousins are to include James Jones, Jr., Darrell V. Jones, Kevin W. Jones, L. C. Polk, Jr., Damon C. Polk, Eric Polk, Darren Polk, Kenyatta N. McGee, Chimiara D. Jones/McGee, Samuel G. Jones, III and Jermecca M. Branch.

Elizabeth was the wife and soulmate of Joe Louis Cooper. In 1963, they established their unconditional love in marriage. It was a relationship that lasted 46 years on this earth and continues to this day in God’s Kingdom.

Mrs. Cooper had a strong connection with the Lord. She cherished her church home at St. John Baptist Church. She had a passion for nursing and served the profession for over 38 years. Elizabeth had a natural gift that was for cooking that was undeniable. She specialized in many dishes but some of her family favorites were her sweet potato pies and homemade cornbread from scratch.

Elizabeth was a teacher in the department of education at Wichita General Hospital. Upon her exit at Wichita General, she became a loving and caring school nurse at Kirby Math Science Technology Center in Wichita Falls, TX where she retired.

Elizabeth leaves the legacy of the Cooper fight with her family and friends as we honor her life in celebration.

I worked with Cooper for several years at WGH. You couldn't be unhappy or mad when she was around. She was always upbeat and happy no matter the situation. She was so good with every patient, tending to their every need. She would help with any questions I ever had. Cooper loved her family. You could see her face light up when she'd talk about J and Diana. I met J a time or two. He was just as sweet as Cooper. Diana too, such a cute little girl. I can only imagine how she must have gone insane over her grandson. I'm praying for her family to find comfort in the Lord's words and the many good memories they must have. And remember, she's dancing on Streets of Gold. 🙏🏻❤️

I loved Charlie! (her nickname). She was my sister's age and after my sister passed, Charlie was right there. We may have been cousins, and years apart in age, but she made the relationship and the years seem closer and better. Charlie was loving and compassionate. Family meant the world to her. She is and will be missed. My prayers are with all who loved her.
