Eteolia Corley Wherry was born March 29, 1936 in Clarksville, TX to the union of Eva Derrick and Carroll Corley. Her early education was completed at Corley Chapel School and she later attended school in Clarksville ISD. She found the Lord at an early age and was baptized at Corley Chapel. Eteolia gained her wings on Sunday, December 29, 2019, in Wichita Falls, TX.

Eteolia’s marriage to Octoliver Coleman resulted in the birth of two children, Eddie and Barbara. In March of 1957, she married Joe Louis Wherry and from this union came Ronnie, Howard, and Gregory. Eteolia was preceded in death by her parents, Eva and Carroll Corley; brothers: James, Robert, Milton, Alonzo, and David; sisters: Idabel, Ruth, Opal, Esther, and Eddie Mae; daughter, Barbara Ann Brown; and grandson, Byron Brown..

In 1965, Eteolia became an active member of Eastside Baptist Church until her health failed. She served in Sunday School, BTU, Missionary Society, Meals on Wheels, Choir President, and many other capacities. Eteolia worked in WFISD for several years and later in life she worked at Parker Square Bank where she retired. She loved singing, fishing, winning in dominoes and most of all her family. Eteolia will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Eteolia leaves to cherish her memories with her sons: Eddie Coleman (Brenda) of Charleston, SC, Ronnie Wherry (Valerie) and Howard Wherry (Donna) of Wichita Falls, TX, and Gregory Wherry of Abilene, TX; sister, Verena Smith of Albuquerque, NM; brother, Eddie Corley (Gladys) of Grants, NM and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Interment will be at Eastlawn Cemetery under the professional care of Wells Funeral Home of Wichita Falls, TX.
