Hellen “Honey G” Gunnels, was born March 28, 1944 to Elmo Sr. and Viola Gunnels in Macon, Georgia. The family later relocated to Wichita Falls, where her parents raised six children. The family attended Welch St Church of Christ that was lead by Winter I. Johnson at the time. Hellen and her family loved the Lord, loved their church and loved singing. Many of her and her siblings sang with the church and various other groups over the years.

Hellen and her identical twin sister, Ellen, graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in 1963. After graduating she held multiple domestic working positions with her last and longest work history being at Wichita General Hospital. She worked there numerous years before retiring to stay home and care for her elderly mother.

A social butterfly would be an understatement when remembering Hellen. She was the type of person that never met a stranger, just a friend that she didn’t know yet. Her warmth, charm, smile, and sense of humor made for hundreds of life long relationships over the years. Her son would always joke that they could never go to a store and not run into someone she knew and had to stop and chat with. She will truly be missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Preceded in death were:
Parents: Elmo & Viola Gunnels Sr.; Siblings: Annie Ruth & husband Fred Swanson; Elmo Gunnels Jr. & wife; Ellen Williams; Andrew & wife Bettye Gunnels; Golda Adams; Niece Beverly Adams-Waggoner; Her first loving kitty companion Missy.

Left to cherish her memory are One and only son, Andy “Stopped At Perfection” Ryan; grandsons Ondrā Ryan & Andrew Ryan II; Daughter in love Stephanie & husband Michael Harris; Her loving cat Bebe as well as a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and many many good friends!

Helen Nana Pudding Gunnels, was such a beautiful person inside and out, she will be greatly missed. When I had to go out of town on trips, every time I call, she answered me. There was never a time that I called her that she did not answer the phone. Until we meet again! She always had something beautiful and comical to say. Never a dull moment around her she brightened up any room.
