Jerome Edward Taylor son of the late Harrison and Gloria Taylor was born in Los Angeles, California on June 14, 1945. He came to know the Lord at an early age and rededicated his life to the Lord in 2014 under the leadership of Pastor Doris Smith at St. Matthews Baptist Church. He later united with Antioch Baptist Church in 2016.
He graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in 1963, where he played in the band. He attended Midwestern University and was drafted into the military and served in the Army from 1966 to 1969. After leaving the Army, he returned to his studies at Midwestern University and graduated with a Sociology Bachelor’s degree in 1971.

He encouraged and empowered children for 30 years at Boys and Girls Clubs in Texas and Georgia. He retired from the Wichita Falls, Texas Boys and Girls Club in 2018.
