Jerry Donnell Fields was born in Wichita Falls, TX to the parents of Juanita Fields and Horace Nash on January 28, 1960. Jerry remained in Wichita Falls until the age of 9 when he moved to Fort Worth, TX; where he was raised by his mother and stepfather, Mac Thompson. Once in Fort Worth, Jerry attended Greater Mt. Tabor Missionary Baptist Church. In his late teenage years, Jerry joined the choir and became the drummer. Jerry attended Polytechnic High School and graduated in 1978. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, riding motorcycles, playing the drums when he was younger and eventually moved back to Wichita Falls, where he has lived for the past 30 years. He continued to enjoy fishing, gardening, and an avid dog lover until he passed away. Jerry was a talented carpenter by trade for over 40 years. He also enjoyed being with family and friends and was willing to help anyone he could. Jerry showed his love to his family and friends in the best way he could by being committed to help whenever possible when someone was in need. Jerry is survived by his loving family: parents, Juanita Thompson (Mac); sister: LaDana McWhorter (Eric); brothers: Cedric Thompson (LaNessa) and Cyrus Thompson (Keleia), and a host of aunts, uncle, cousins, nieces, and nephews other relatives and friends.

I'll always remember our celebrations and holidays together with Jerry and Vickie. You could always count on Jerry to cook some delicious ribs! My husband will always be grateful for the peppers he shared from his garden. Jerry was a kind and thoughtful man and he will be missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family during this time of loss.
