Lenny Watkins was born on December 8th, 1956 in Melville Louisiana. He finished high school. He was a galley cook on the oil rig for 15 years. Lenny was a creative carpenter who loved to work with his hands. One of his greatest pleasures was building a deck and sitting in the sun with loved ones. He was a great lover of all music especially R&B, Zydeco, and Jazz.

He leaves to cherish his memories Barbara Oliver; his sisters: Alvina Matthews from Baton Rouge Louisiana and Abbie Simmons from Albuquerque, New Mexico. His son, Marlin James Watkins from Atlanta, Georgia and two step sons.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Marvia Banks and his Sister, Wanda Faye
