Mae Austin’s Legacy

Mae Frances Newton-Austin, 81 entered into heavenly rest on Tuesday May 6, 2025 in Forney, TX surrounded by her precious loved ones. She was born on August 15, 1943 in Honey Grove, TX to the late Chester Mae Burleson and Simmie A. Newton. She met and later married Albert Lee Austin Sr. in 1968. Mae was a member of Nehemiah Bible Based Church in Wichita Falls, TX. She worked and retired from Wichita State Hospital after twenty-five years of service. After retirement she was employed at Early Head Start where she loved working with children.

She is survived by five children Donald Newton (Angelia) of Wichita Falls,TX, Tracy Newton of Wichita Falls,TX, Jackie Newton of Forney, TX, Albert Austin Jr. (Diana) of Wichita Falls, TX and Ronald Austin of Wichita Falls, TX; only living brother, Bob Perry of Wichita Falls,TX; twenty-nine grandchildren along with a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family and friends.

Mae was preceded in death by her son, Terrance Newton; sister,Betty Burleson, and her parents.
