Norman Ray Cotton was the second child born on August 24, 1947 to Freddie Cotton and Lula H. Boyd in Dallas, Texas. Norman moved to Wichita Falls, Texas with his family and attended Wichita Public Schools. He played drums in the Booker T. Washington High School Marching Band. He also played varsity basketball for the Leopards. He loved music and was an outstanding athlete. He departed this life on January 12, 2021.

Norman entered the Army on November 8, 1967 and served his country soon after graduating high school. He was honorably discharged on March 3, 1970. Norman was an expert at Rifle and Marksman as a Private 1st Class serving in Korea. Her returned to civilian life and worked many years at Shepard Air Force Base before moving back to the Dallas area where he supervised on a contract assignment with the Veteran Administration Hospital until he became disabled.

Norman was a loving son, brother, father, uncle and friend. He will be missed by those that loved and knew him. He is preceded in death by both parents and 2 younger brothers. Norman is survived by his daughter, 3 sisters, and 2 brothers, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
