Peggy Louise Speed Sirmans was born June 23, 1952 in Shreveport, Louisiana to the late Ernest Speed and the late Maybell Moffit Speed. Peggy declared herself as a servant of God at an early age. She departed this life on October 14, 2023 in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Peggy graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in Shreveport, Louisiana. She worked at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center until her retirement in 1991.

She met and married Eddie Sirmans in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Peggy was the First Lady of Providence Baptist Church for 17 years.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Maybell Moffit Speed (Williams); father, Ernest Speed; brothers, Allan Smith and Johnnie Smith and sister, Betty Faye Armstead.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 27 years, Eddie, Sirmans; daughter, Deborah Patterson (Ronnie) of Dallas, Texas; sons, Derek Diggs (Elease) of Columbia, South Carolina and Matthew Sirmans (Constense) of Denver, Colorado; grandchildren Dimitri Diggs, Dashalyn Diggs, Bria Patterson, Lucca Sirmans, Bryce Patterson; brother, Robert Smith of Victorville, CA; sisters, Rosie Valdez of Shreveport, LA, Shirley Deal of Shreveport, LA, Catherine Flowers of Dallas, Texas and Lisa Allen of Dallas, Texas.
