Obituary

Services Monday, July 26, 2021 Welch Street Church of Christ 6:00 PM Bro. Rodney Smith, Pastor

Rodrick Dion Davis was born on April 19, 1966 to the parentage of Jamesetta Calicutt and Phillip Broussard in Wichita Falls, TX.

He accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Welch Street Church of Christ. He received his education at Wichita Falls High School.

Rodrick will be remembered for his caring, thoughtful, introspective nature. “Red” was everybody’s protector and loved his family with fierce determination.

He was an accopmplished chef who started helping his mother in the kitchen and his career spanned more than five decades. If he wasn’t on the clock cooking, you would find him at home whipping up cakes and pasteries from scratch.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Jamesetta Calicutt and father, Phillip Broussard; daughter, Whitney Davis; brother, Phillip Thaggard; sisters, LaTonya Harris and Kathy Daniels.

Rodrick leaves to cherish his memories, wife, Mary Davis; dad, Robert Calicutt; children, Rodrick Davis, Jr., Brittany Davis, and Jonathan Davis; siblings, Herman Davis, Kesha Calicutt, Kendra Calicutt-Tillery, Cenia Williams, Karen Bowen, Edith Broussard, Gary Broussard, JoAnn McGruder, Cynthia McGruder, and Sharon McGruder; grandmother, Mary Davis; a host of other relatives and friends.

He later became a proud grandfather and looked forward to the day when he could go fishing with his kids and grandkids
