Samuel Clement Sr. 80 years old, of Wichita Falls, TX, passed away on January 26, 2024 in Wichita Falls, TX.

Samuel Clement Sr. was born in Wichita Falls, TX, to John and Dorothy Clement, Sr. on July 25, 1943. He attended and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in 1961. It was during high school he met the love of his life, Linda Grate. He enrolled at Prairie View A & M University and later received his barber license from Tyler Barber College in Tyler, TX. Shortly after, he enlisted in the United States Army. He received his Basic Training at Fort Polk Louisiana; after which, he married his high school sweetheart on May 15th, 1965. Thereafter, he was stationed at Fort Ord California prior to doing a tour of duty in Germany. He later, returned stateside and completed his tour at Fort Mead Maryland. In 1965, he earned an Operating Room Procedure Basic Course Certificate and worked at Wichita Falls State Hospital, and Bethania Hospital as an operating room technician. After which, he worked for General Motors for 25 years in the shipping and receiving department, until his retirement. He was involved in the Lynwood East Community organization. His hobbies were fishing, playing golf, bowling, and competitive dart.

After accepting Christ, he attended St. John Baptist Church at an early age where he sat on the pew with his grandfather and father.

Samuel Clement Sr. was a strong man of God and loved being his servant. He was involved in many church activities and served in several capacities faithfully at Saint John Baptist church before changing his membership to New Birth Baptist church. There he continued his faithful service as chairman of several committees. He always quoted his favorite scripture, Psalm 121. He later united with New Birth Baptist Church where he chaired several committees prior to being ordained as a deacon on October 25, 2009 where he served faithfully until his health failed. He participated religiously in zoom calls each Sunday where he delivered prayer for the sick and shut-in and also Wednesday night Bible Study.

On January 26, 2024, Samuel Clement Sr., transitioned from this earthly life and went home to be with the Lord. He is preceded in death by his father John Clement Sr., and his mother Dorothy Clement.

His life legacy will forever be cherished by his wife Linda Clement of 58 years. They were blessed with three children: son, Samuel Clement Jr. of Wichita Falls, TX; daughters, Ylonda Clement of Dallas, TX, Sharise Clement-Dunlap of Corinth, TX; brothers John Clement Jr. of Wichita Falls, TX and Charles Clement of Ontario, CA; God Son, Eddie Jessie of Houston, TX; sister -in laws; Loise Grate of Wichita Falls, TX, Marcia Johnson (James) Rosebud, TX, and Sonya Butler of Wichita Falls, TX; aunt, Estella Harris, Locust Grove, VA; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and two very special cousins, Mike Clement and Reginald Robinson Jr., other relatives and friends.
