Shanata McKay was born on February 8, 1980 to Douglas and Debra McKay in Sherman, TX. She accepted Christ at an early age. She gained her wings on October 17, 2022. Shanata and her family moved to Wichita Falls when she was fifteen years old and she attended Wichita Falls High School.

Shanata loved spending time with her family especially her three siblings, Nona Phea, Prentice, McKay and Toi McKay. She was a loving daughter, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend. She is preceded in death by her father Douglas McKay and maternal Grandmother, Freddie Mae Phea.

Shanata leaves to cherish her sweet memories her life partner of twelve years, Alfonzo Miller; six kids Jahlian Polk of Wichita Falls, TX, Ja’Khia Kornegay and (Erick Meeks) of Graham, TX, Tae’Oshanae Jeter of Graham, TX, Diamond Ford of Graham, TX, Tayshawn Ford, Gamiyah Barber of North Carolina; grandson, Jeremiah Meeks of Graham, TX; three siblings, Nona Phea of Houston, TX, Prentice McKay and Toi McKay both of Wichita Falls; two special nieces, who she loved as her own Ja’Nayia Crawford and Kie’Yae Mathis-McKay; three nephews, Ja’Quavious Crawford ,De’Irre Sumpter and one who she adored with all her heart, Kie’Aurion Mckay all of Wichita Falls, TX; two very special sister cousins who she loved near and dear to her heart, La’Toya King and Dominique Stalberte (Mark); a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
