Obituary For SHARON LARUE ROSE

Sharon LaRue Rose was born in Wichita Falls, TX to Preston Sr. and Evelyn Rose on October 9, 1955. She passed away on September 21, 2021 at the age of 65.

Sharon was a 1973 graduate of Wichita Falls High School. After graduation she moved for a lengthy time to California. While in California, Sharon attended community college and obtained certification for nursing assistant. She also studied at Banning Adult Center where she studied child development and long-term adult care. Her passion was attending to the elderly. She was an Activity Director for Autumn Cottage of Hollywood, CA.

After returning to Wichita Falls, Sharon continued to work in the same field of employment. She was employed with the City of Wichita Falls as an Activity Director at the Senior Zone. Sharon was a member of St. John Baptist Church where she loved singing in the choir. Those who knew Sharon, knew her love for animals, primarily dogs. She enjoyed listening to music, drawing, decorating and could cook a mean pot of collard greens.

Sharon is survived by her siblings, Doris Rose-Clark (Los Angeles, CA), Preston L. Rose Jr. (Phoenix, AZ), Billy Rose (Tina) (Frankfurt, Germany), Sylvia Rose (McKinney, TX); grandchild, Cassandra Evans; two great grandsons, Aidyn and Anthony (Indio, CA); several nieces, a nephew, a host of other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death was her son, Corey Geraud Evans; parents, Preston L. Rose Sr. and Evelyn Rose-Williams and Freddie Williams.

We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.” 2 Corinthians 5:8

My Journey’s Just Begun

Don't think of me as gone away My journey's just begun Life holds so many facets This earth is but one Just think of me as resting From the sorrows and the tears In a place of warmth and comfort Where there are no days and years Think of how I must be wishing That you could know today How nothing but your sadness Can really go away And think of me as living In the hearts of those I touched For nothing loved is ever lost And I know I was loved so much by Ellen Brenneman

Condolences

I remember Sharon from early high school when we made friends. I went to her house and met baby Corey. She was so precious and so fun. I don't remember anything else but that day (that's only due to my poor memory) but I've never forgotten her and often think of her and Corey. I am sad to see Corey was gone first and sorry to see that Sharon is now gone too. May the family find peace in the loving arms of God.
