Shirley Ann Pope was born February 11, 1952 to Melvin and Nerelyne Pope in Wichita Falls, TX. She departed this life on November 16, 2019.

She was raised in Wichita Falls, TX. She attended Booker T. Washington in Wichita Falls, TX. She was in holy matrimony to Wilmer Gene Murphy in 1971. To this union was born Sonja R. Pope, Kevin and Keith Murphy.

Shirley was employed many years as a cook at Sheppard Air Force Base. She enjoyed her past time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. They were the love of her life. She was a wonderful mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, cousin and friend.

She was a member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Billy R. Robinson.

Shirley is preceded in death by her mother, Nerelyne; grandparents, Ester Rodgers and George and Sylvia Pope; son, Kevin Murphy; brother, Melvin L. Pope, Jr.; sister, Brenda Faye Daniels-Pope; and grandson, Donald Earl Wade Pope, Jr. ;

She leaves to cherish her memory, two children, Sonja Pope and Keith Murphy; father, Melvin Gene Pope; sister, Wanda Pope; ten grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
