Steven Kirk Bobo, Sr. was born on December 14, 1970 in Newport Beach, California to Scottie Bobo and Mary (Dews) Bobo. Steven was called from labor to reward in Wichita Falls, Texas on Saturday, October 30, 2021.

Steven accepted Christ as his savior at an early age. He united with The Church of the Living God the Pillar and Ground of the Truth under the leadership of Overseer Lonnie Wilson. Steven was ordained as a Deacon under the leadership of Overseer Nathaniel Mosley and up until his home going served under the leadership of Overseer Leonard C. Jones, Jr. He was instrumental in the lives of the youth of the church in his capacity as Youth Director. He was the church organist, a member of the Adult Choir and choir director. He was also a member of the Male Chorus. He remained a faithful and humble servant until the Lord called him home.

He met, fell in love and married his best friend, his Dear, his Proverb Woman Brenda Owens on July 10, 2004. Together in love they raised 2 wonderful children, Nia and Steven Jr.

Steven graduated from Hirsch High School in 1989. He was a member of the Tennis Team and served as a member of the Hirsch High School “Big Blue Band from Husky Land” where he played the tuba. During his junior year at Hirsch he was the assistant Drum Major and was elevated to the position of Drum Major during his senior year. After graduation Steven attended Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, TX.

Steven was a faithful and loyal employee of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas for over 22 years. He held various positions there, with his final position being that of Senior Supervisor for Workforce Management. During his tenure there he developed close bonds and lasting friendships.

Steven was a humble, reliable and trustworthy man. He was a man of truth, integrity, and respect. A man with a big heart who always saw light amid darkness. He never met a stranger and was loved by so many. But most of all, he was a faithful man of God, a devoted husband, father, son and brother.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Travis Dews, Sr., and Lucy Nora (Peterson) Dews; J. C. Bobo and Lillian (Turner) Bobo, brother Tony Bobo, aunts Diana Brown, Ola Faye Stephens, Ola Mae Jenkins, Joann Bobo and uncle, Jesse Dews.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, daughter and son, his parents, Parents in Love Allison and Bertha Owens; sister Tonia Bobo; Brothers in Love Danny (Darlene) Owens, Gene (Priscilla) Owens; godson Ryan White; goddaughters Tanya and LeKera Brown; as well as a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, family and friends who each held a special place in his heart.

As my heart was fumbling over the words I wanted to say, but couldn't through the tears, I trailed off in my own thoughts, wondering what kind of world it would be if we took the time to say these things to each other while still in the flesh. Then Heaven tapped me on the shoulder as if to say, "you do remember who we are talking about, right?". Right, Steven Bobo. A man who lived out the kindness that we all somewhere deep inside wish to show or be shown. He always spoke with sweetness in his tone and intent. Those who knew him, little or well, were impacted by his life in a most positive way. He had a way of always making me feel like I had someone in my corner, even if it was only to tell me I probably shouldn't be in that corner in the first place. In the blessed years I was able to report to Steven, I've never known anyone to listen so intently nor have so much patience with my overthinking. I thank his wonderful family, to whom the conversation always shifted, for sharing him. Bobo family, you are a blessing just as Steven is, and my heart wants nothing more than to wrap you up in an endless hug. I am so deeply sorry for the loss you will carry, and pray you receive that Heavenly peace in abundance until reunited. Know that you are cherished, Steven's legacy and memory are cherished and I will think of you all, often, with prayers and love. HCSC Family - Montana

I am so sorry for your loss. I knew Steven from work at BCBS, he was always kind with a wit that would hit you when least expected. That wit surprised you and made you smile. No matter what , He always would smile and say hi when he would walk by my desk. I remember his love for basketball especially the Dallas Maverick's and would talk about the game whenever he got the chance. He was a good man, with a big heart and to say he is greatly missed is an understatement. Praying that God's comfort envelopes you and your family during this very difficult time. 🙏🏽 Gina Trejo-Funk BCBSTX Wichita Falls Family

Please accept my condolences. I taught Steven at Hirschi and remember him well. He was very special. In my "office" here at home, I have a plaque that he and two of his friends presented to me years ago. His name is on it.

I am devastated hearing the passing of Steven. What a joy he was in my classroom. I taught him in 4th and 5th grade at Kate Burgess Elementary. He was one of the many students you could depend upon to be a leader. I remember reading a book to the class called "Dependable Pendable." I had a paper displayed in my classroom of all of the students who were "Dependable Pendables!" Steven definitely was on the list. I loved him so much and saw him mature into a fine young man, husband and father. God Bless You dear Steven! Know that you are loved and missed. Your family and friends will continue your legacy. Sincerely, Mrs. Josie Smith 4th and 5th Grade Teacher Kate Burgess Elementary 1980-1982

I am so sorry for your loss. I wish I had the privilege of working with Steven longer than the couple years I had with him but I will be forever appreciative of the time that I had. He lived his calling at work, always kind and cheerful. He is greatly missed. Nancy Huff BCBSTX - Richardson
